I had my appointment at 9:30am and did not leave until 3pm. I asked for my brown hair to be dyed blonde. They gave me blonde HIGHLIGHTS. I do not know much about hair so I did not realize what they were actually doing. I was extremely dissatisfied with my hair. It came out looking nice with the highlights and that is the only reason I am not giving this place one star. The students were extremely nice, but the teacher was not stern enough to tell the students what they were doing wrong. The teacher, Ms. Kelly, knew I wanted my hair dyed blonde, and she checked in on the two students working on my hair. I am not sure why she let it take almost SIX hours to do my hair. I was told it would take less than two hours to dye my hair. I only came to this location in Hooksett because it had low prices compared to other companies.
Take my advice here:
Spend the extra $30 or so for an actual professional to do your hair correctly.
Nothing against the students here, they did everything alright. It’s the teachers that should have known and corrected the mistake.
I am not usually one to complain, but I was beyond steaming once I left the beauty school. I will never go to an Empire Beauty School again due to this experience.

Loved going to school here !!!! I went here in 2016 for barbering and my teacher was AWESOME!!! Absolutely loved her ! She's an AMAZINGLY talented Barber and just as great at teaching!! The entire staff that works at this campus is great ! I'm hoping to return soon with the Esthetic program and cant wait! Everyone was very professional , caring , helpful ...I could go on forever ! I would definitely recommend this school to anyone and everyone interested! I've been to another "beauty" school and it was the worst experience , time and money wasted ..lesson learned that's for sure!! Empire is great!

I have to be honest & give 5*, though I'm ticked off they wouldn't take both my Groupon coups, only 1. (I bought 4, via their own ad, now stuck with 3 due to misleading ad) Also, they have no scanner to scan SmartPhone coups. NO reflection on mgmt here, but rather on Marketing Dept. Excellent color (roots , then foils) by McKenzie on 3/29/18. BEST color job I've had in 45 yrs, honestly ! 2 attentive instructors reviewed each & every step of the process, beginning to end. Services here take more time, but these are students, after all. Please, tip the usual 20% + that you'd give a fully-trained professional.
