REVIEWS

I wish we had read these other reviews before going. It was an awful experience for several reasons. I was there yesterday with my daughter, sister & niece. On a Saturday they only had three people working so we had long waits and had to share our nail tech with other customers. •The tech in the middle of working on my sister’s pedi moved to another lady without changing gloves and polished her toes, then went back to my sister. After she was sloughing off dead skin, she put her hands inside my water, then went and took someone’s card payment..SAME GLOVES! While she was gone we told the other employee to ask her to change her gloves. She begrudgingly took them off and put them back in her tool basket instead of the trash, and had a bad attitude the rest of the time. •They stuck my neice’s feet in water so hot, it made her feet go numb. They brought out hot towels to for my sister. They were so hot the tech burned her hands and tossed them on my sisters tub, burning her leg too. •When the tech realized she forgot my sister’s paraffin wax, she stuck her feet in the wax after her toes were already painted and left her all sticky beacise she couldn’t scrub it off. •My tech was telling us strange stories about people she knows who had several kids, went into detail about her miscarriages and her husband who molested the children’s. We literllay did nothing to inspire this conversation and it was awkward to say the least. •My daughter was getting her nails done and when we asked about her experience she showed us her lumpy nails and said her tech was talking about her mother’s death two months ago and how her family never visits her. Of course we have compassion for that but these conversations are very inappropriate to have with clients. •My sister called before going to get price info. When we went to pay, the services were $20 more than quoted for each. We explained that we were given wrong information over the phone but they were unwilling to honor the quoted price. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review but this place should not be open.

No stars!!! Horrible service. Made an appointment ahead for myself and my 7 year old. Arrived early to browse colors (rushed the entire time we browsed). Had the menu thrown in my lap while 3 workers cackled during the pedicure. The guy working with my daughter told her that her nails are too short (none of his concern as they are healthy). Then, when they did my manicure, they wouldn't let her sit with me until 10minutes before I was done. I wrote on the receipt that they get no tip for poor service. No place for children. Place was messy. Cords all over the place around the chairs.

I made reservations for myself and 3 other ladies for 1:30 this past Saturday. When it became clear to me (at noon that day), that we may be late for the appointment, I called to ask if it could be moved to 2:00. The receptionist told me "yea, I'll let the technicians know. But it would be better if you come earlier." Okay - we'll do our best. We arrive at about 1:45. I thought that we would have satisfied the receptionist by coming earlier than 2:00, but I must have been wrong. She tensely greeted us, pointed at the polish rack on the wall, and headed off to prepare the pedicure chairs. Only 3 of us had pedicures, while all 4 had manicures. I'll admit that removing the one pedicure was a last minute modification to the appointments (i.e., we told them when we walked in that we scheduled one pedicure too many), but that didn't seem to be an issue. We were offered beverages and all of us requested champagne. One girl finished her glass and was offered a second; when she said that she would have another glass, the receptionist gave a condescending and judgmental glare. If she didn't want to serve a second glass of champagne, she should not have offered.. The services were fine, for the most part. I think there may have been some misunderstandings that led to us feeling unwelcome and I only choose to outline them in an effort to encourage the management to assist the technicians in appropriate communication/interaction. 1 - one technician was clearly unhappy with her client. When the water was brought over, the client felt like it was cold. The technician says "no, it's warm." The client disagrees and asks for warmer water and is given scalding hot water that the client winced at. (Goldilocks - am I right?). In any event, this can be overcome. I'm sure she wasn't testing the temperature of the water before bringing it to the table. Later in the service she argued with the client about how to properly insert her hand into the UV box for shellac... 2 - technician told the client "you're busy. leave the phone down." 3 - technician squeezed clients hand when the client turned her head to speak to other members of the group as if to say "stop it - look forward." Granted, I understand that your hands will move when you're shifting your position, but I don't think I've ever had a technician noticeably squeeze my hand in a manicure. In sum, 3 out of the 4 who were in the group had a negative experience. 1 was exponentially worse than the rest and I wouldn't be writing this negative review based on 2 & 3 alone. The experience of 1 coupled with the demeanor and tone of the receptionist ruined our day. I used to visit Altesse frequently because it was conveniently located on my commute to and from Boerne for work. I was excited to return for their lavender pedicure and was met with great disappointment.

This place is elegant, quiet and you are sat in privacy. Just like spas should be. Been coming here for over 3 years and always treated with kindness. My experiences have been great. For others bad experiences, it would be help if you included the name of the technician and not bash the entire spa because of that one person.
