(UPDATE: I added a star because she agreed to send me a refund in the mail, although she acted very offended that I wasn't satisfied. I would not have asked for a refund had she shown more willingness to correct the messed up roots.) I went based on the high recommendations of a friend who thought highly of the stylist Nikki although she had never had her hair done by her. I'm so disappointed and feel my daughter's hair looked better before... You could see a very hard line at the roots like you'd see in beauty collage like where someone doesn't take the time to make sure it's done nicely but I definitely wasn't expecting it from a place I'm paying top price at. Also the blonde was a horrible yellow color and didn't look like it had been in long enough or was the wrong solution for her. It didn't even match some of the blonde on the bottom... She braided the top where it looked the worst... At first I thought that was a sweet touch until we got home and I suspected that it was to hide how horrible it looked so I wouldn't say anything when I paid. I understand that sometimes even great stylists can have off days and mistakes happen... But at least try to make it right and own up to it!! I didn't want her to feel bad about messing up so I kept hoping she would say something but she didn't. She just went onto the next client and didn't even offer to fix it then or make an appointment to have it look better until I called later. Even then, she only offered to put toner in it. I also mentioned the hard line and yellow color... I told her that her roots and the line didn't look right, and she told me that it would bleed if she went too close and tried to play it off like it was normal. I've seen a lot of highlight jobs and that is NOT normal. I've even done my daughter's hair at home and it looked better. To me her response sounded like she was making excuses and really didn't want to take personal responsibility for a job that was not very good. She offered to put toner to help the yellow and when I pressed more about fixing the line she only said that she would take a look but didn't sound very willing to make it right. This type of attitude reminds me of another stylist who gave me an amazing haircut once and when I came back for a trim, for the same cut she cut it completely different and it was horrible and instead of being honest and admitting she messed up, she tried to blame it on my hair which she cut perfectly well the first time... Which made me lose respect and trust for her and I never went back. I would have had she been honest and said she messed up. It made me not trust her to fix it since she is either being dishonest with me or doesn't know much about making highlight roots blend nicely. The last highlight that my daughter got grew out so nicely that it looked very natural and there was no line.... So I know that her excuse wasn't entirely true even if it was out of ignorance. The haircut was pretty nice, although not precision done like her previous cut but it looked pretty still. It still was worth the money and I don't expect a refund for that. There seemed to be a lack of respect when it came to communication towards me as a client. There was not much reassurance that she was even listening to what I wanted and what she responded when I asked her if she understood about the haircut part was very brief and almost like he was annoyed at me for asking. Thankfully it turned out decent. Overall the Nikki was decently cordial and friendly and made small talk that made my daughter laugh, but her lack of professionalism and not showing willingness to really communicate and also the fact that she only offered to put toner in was really upsetting. The bottom part of the highlights looked alright but the top where I mostly paid for was really horrible since the line was so bad I can't even put my daughters hair in a ponytail or half hair updo because the lines are so bad
