Love Kylie and will definitely return for more pedicures from her in the future. Got a full set acrylic by the gentleman who’s name I forgot to get, and they look amazing. I only get acrylics once in a blue moon, but I love how they turned out.

One of the nail techs(a younger woman I believe her name was Kylie) is very unprofessional and also, a racist. All I got was a simple gel manicure, the friend I went with had a full set of nails put on and was *still* done before me because this girl kept stopping to: talk about herself, interrupt the conversation between my friend and I, or to look something up on her phone. My fingers are so sore because she was so rough on my cuticles, I have a fairly high pain tolerance so I didn't really realize it till I got home and started using my hands for things. She also at one point reached across the nail table to grab the top of my shirt and lift it up to better see the character that was on the front which was extremely violating. Now for the racism part, this may not ring a lot of bells as the area we live in is alive and well with trump supporters, but it is well known that in the work place you don't discuss politics or religion. These are the two big things that when discussed can make or break customer relationships. At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to believe/think what they want, what they aren't allowed to do is blast those thoughts and feelings out at a customer who just wants some nail polish. My friend and I were discussing my wedding that happens to be inspired by Disney's Princess and the Frog, the nail tech proceeded to question me *persistently* "but WHY Princess and the Frog?". After telling her numerous times it was because of my love for all things Disney, the movie, New Orleans, the 1920s era, and jazz, she told me that *I* was racist for wanting to have a wedding inspired by a movie and then the kicker- she begins to go off on a tangent about the new live action Little Mermaid. "Can you believe it?" She asks "What?" I say hoping I heard her wrong, hoping she would correct herself "did you hear about the new black little mermaid can you believe that? Like do they really need that? I know it took them a while to get princess and the frog but I don't care!"
I was shocked. I was uncomfortable. I was angry. I am very ashamed of myself for not getting up and leaving right there but I was half way through the process and honestly, completely dumbfounded that I was in this situation. I told her yes, I knew about the live action movie and that I didn't really care who was playing her. The nail tech then decided it was okay to justify her statement by going on about how she was Indian and how the only two princesses she had to look up to with darker skin was pocahontas and jazmine. Like? Okay? As a white girl I will never understand that struggle, and I know I only have so much room to talk. BUT Aladdin was released in '92 and Pocahontas '95. There was not a BLACK DISNEY PRINCESS TILL 2009!! and still to this day until the live action Little Mermaid comes out, there will only have been 1 BLACK princess and you're going to ask "do they really need that?" Black people make up I think its 13%(?) Of the entire world population, WHICH IS A LOT! and you're mad that 1 of the FICTIONAL 20+ princesses is being played by a black woman? They don't NEED anything, it is their human born right to be able to pretend to be a god damn Disney mermaid if they so choose just like the rest of us.
I cannot say that these are the beliefs of the rest of the staff, as sadly there is a bit of a language barrier so I honestly I don't think they realized what she was saying(they have always been nice and respectful the few other times I've been here) However, I personally will not be attending here again, I go to the nail salon to relax and have me time. Not to be touched inappropriately and gas lighted with people's negative opinions on the world.
