Best hair cut in Pittsburgh! Been going to Puccini's for 10 years now. Sal is a great dude and does his best to accommodate times. 5 star establishment!

I came to this salon accidentally, just because I was in the area and had a few hours before the party where I wanted to look good. So I googled what was around, and walked in. And absolutely didn't regret this decision. I was immediately assigned to Ashley and she was really good in understanding what exactly I wanted (haircut with layers and full highlights of the RIGHT color). She was also able to fix my old, not very successful highlights (which I did a while ago in a different city) that left me with awfully visible stripes of light hair on my natural dark background. Ashley magically fixed that, and now I have really nice highlights, which are visible, but blended very nicely so that I don't look like a zebra. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the place and I'm sure I'll be returning there (I work and live in different parts of the city, but I feel it's worth a trip). Oh, and did I mention they had complimentary wine? I didn't actually taste it, but even the fact that they have it is very nice. As for the price - it was an average price that I usually pay to get haircut and highlights, Not cheap, not expensive - usual. Which is good considering the excellent result. Thank you, guys!

I went in a few days ago. This place was great. I walked in after being recommended to this place by a few people. Sal greeted me at the front and offered me something to drink and told me they could absolutely squeeze me in. I have never been somewhere where the person manning the front desk seemed to actually care that you were there, and Sal had a lot to say! But his only gift is not the gift of gab but the gift of listening. While it was a little weird to have someone chat that much to me right off the bat (like I said, not as many other salons are as friendly!) Sal took everything he got from me and gave it to my stylist as a intro to talking points. Clearly someone has been in this business long enough to know how to make his clients comfortable! The actual shop was clean and uniquely decorated, it has a very nice, chill vibe. The only thing keeping me from giving a five star review is, unfortunately, the stylist who was available to cut my hair. Cali was very sweet, and she did an ok job at cutting my hair. While not technically the wrong cut (I have a very short hair cut), it wasn't really the right cut either. When she asked me what I was looking to do I told her what I usually did, and mentioned how I was looking to change the front a little by keeping some of the length and wanting to be able to part it on both sides instead of just one, and that really I just wanted a basic trim in the front and fluff removal in the back. What I wound up getting was the first part of what I told her (the usual I was trying to change up) and a long, negative, and curse-word filled story about her family members. While I'm not an easily offended person, it's a little disconcerting to hear the F-Bomb being used that many times in relation to a five year old, while the person is wielding sheers. I also wish she had spent a little more time talking to me about my hair, or at least shown she was being more attentive when we were talking. I waited a few days because with all hair cuts it takes a bit to settle into, you usually walk out with a great cut and style that you can never recreate yourself, so I've given it time to play with my normal looks before making a final decision. Looking around the shop, I don't think I'll have this problem with other stylists. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll probably schedule an appointment and make sure I'm not with Cali again.

If I need a haircut and I'm around Oakland, you bet that this is the first place I will go. I have had a few different people cut my hair from this Salon and every time I have been really happy with how it turned out. If you want a haircut that fits your head well and is right, then you need to go here. These guys know hair and actually care so don't waste your time or money anywhere else.

I wanted a different hair style than ever before and I was a little nervous. I was met with enthusiasm and skill, which made the doubt disappear. Thanks Puccini’s.
