I recently relocated to Independence and have had a few bad experiences in the past to say the least. I looked up best nail salon in Independence so I went to see Tina at TK nails, I was skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised. They fit me and my niece who was visiting from Utah right in, it was 45 minutes till close but they welcomed us in with no hesitation. I love the quality of service I receive every time I come in. They understand the value of a dollar and they always give exceptional service for your buck. So go see Tina, she's always there for you.

NEVER AGAIN! I went in for a fill, and told her some of my nails were lifting from the tips. I showed her how far it was off and she asked what I wanted her to do about it. I asked if she could glue them. She did and then proceeded to grind on it and when it spun halfway off making my nail bleed she said oh sorry didnt know it was coming off. I said i told you it was! She then RIPPED it the rest of the way off! 2 weeks later the very nail she replaced fell off and under is my damaged, cracked nail. The white part is not connected to my finger and will surely fall off. another nail has fallen off as well on the other hand. they clearly do not know what they are doing. The nails were bumpy and uneven, the polish was all over my cuticles and fingers.

This place has 4.8 stars...HOW?!?!? I asked for a manicure, the technician cut around my cuticles recklessly, making 2 bleed, and leaving 'fly-away' and peeling cuticle skin on all of the others. I'm assuming his eyesight wasn't the best, as he recruited his coworker to do the gel paint. Oh! And nails weren't even filed/shaped properly, one of them has a ridge across the end because the only file he used was the absolute coarsest, the ends of fingernails weren't even smoothed out. After the mediocre filing job, the dude puts dollar store lotion right on top of the filing dust on my hands! I wasn't allowed to wash my hands during the entire process or even dust them off before he rubbed the lotion and nail-dust combo all into my skin. The lady that was tasked with painting my nails was no better. There are mountains of paint on the edges of some of my fingernails and others where paint was not even applied enough to cover the sides of nails. Of course there are also bumps in the paint from all of the filing dust that was never cleaned from my hands, scratches and her fingerprints from when she touched all of them before they were properly dried under the UV lamp. On top of that there is polish all over my cuticles and around the nails! I don't think you could pay me to return to this salon. There was no ventilation whatsoever and the extremely strong smell of salon products was mixed with someone's fried fish lunch (or dinner?), zero ambiance, no music (only the constant barking of multiple dogs.....maybe just outside the back door, or maybe in the next room? It was hard to tell). I was asked after paint was on 2 of my nails if I wanted "fake nails".....um....no thanks. Judging by the pictures, that seems to be a majority of the business here. More power to them, but if you're looking for someone to tend to your natural nails, don't waste your time or money here. Oh, and there is a $1 charge if you're not paying with cash.

What type of nail salon text the customer back instead of calling them? And to top it off I called you said come by so I come by and there's nobody there 😂 IT WAS 1PM! YOUVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. WASTED time and money.
Somebody finally reached out to me wanting to give me a discount because of their actions..... Mmmmhmmm

I called it went voicemail. I drove there to find a sign on the door that said text for appointments. I went to a place up the street that was open for business.
